Thanks for this Mike Raab, identity and meaning are topics close to my heart and something I’ve been exploring latterly in my ‘working out loud’ series (on Medium, I share my thoughts and my process to help me and others learn). I have been exploring what I should ‘do’ (by which I mean my work) that will provide me with fulfilment. One question that my friend Rachel asked me a couple of years ago was:

Would you do this is you weren’t getting paid?

It triggered some helpful reflection and better understanding of myself (and continues to do so today).

(I’m 49 so the search is not something that you ever stop!)
