Some words inspired by a walk amongst the trees in the wind

As I walked I heard the wind rustle the leaves and wondered again about the purpose. The music when I listened and the calmness I felt inside.

Did this help ancient humans find solace before the winter?

Were there experts who could read a forest by listening to the different sounds of the trees like the the dying breed of Pacific islanders who can read the water to navigate?

I have paused to drink it in in a deliberate manner as I know paying close attention places me in a different reality to others living in their own worlds on their own mission.

My mission is to get out of my head and into my heart. To listen carefully.

I breathe a deep sigh. One of contentedness and peace.

It is all very simple.

I look back at the threatening sky, a drmatic backdrop to Alexandra Palace. Why should it be threatening? Does standing in the rain have no joy? As long as you are safe.

More questions than answers.

I fell back into my head again. I remember the moment again and enjoy the awesomeness of that dramatic sight.

I remember the view over the city. The sun enchanting the view over the city somehow. The skyscrapers of Canary Wharf like some like distant, beautiful oasis.

This reflection somes to an end. I read back. The self judgement comes in again. I bat it away — an expert in this now, safe in the knowledge that I am me. And noone would want to judge me for that.

One final thought as I listen to my quiet voice. Is this poetry? It doesn’t matter. It is me.
