How rubbish at my favourite tree showed me the real cause of the climate crisis (and not just this crisis)
It’s 4:30am. This article has been percolating for a while. My body has kept waking me up this week. The cause has mainly been due to a failure to speak up at work — both for my own good and the good of Net Zero Nation.

This article shines a light on these things:
- how Net Zero is caused by our disconnection from nature
- how reconnecting to nature can provide a way forward (and this is how nature operates — it doesn’t have gantt charts and fixed milestones)
- how reconnecting with and honouring our own nature will have the biggest impact
- how our energy is diminished through our habitual anger with ‘others’
In particular, I will explain how the rubbish I found at my favourite tree reminded me how easy it is to get distracted, get angry at others and waste my energy rather than investing it in myself.
